Performance during the Cryer Lecture Series 3-7-2012 Sofitel Manila
Let me start off by saying that I am 18 years old and I had pain and swelling on a few of my fingers and toes back in December. Went to the ER and was diagnosed with MRSA. After 8 days on Bactrim with no improvement, my general doctor said she had no clue and called an infectious disease who turned us to a dermatologist. We watched it for 3 weeks and after a few cycles of swelling and waning, we went to a rheumatologist. My history of psoriasis lead her to think it was Psoriatic Arthritis but we can’t get any solid clues to hint such as blood tests or damaged joints.
We tried Medrol and I had an allergic reaction so I have been switched on 10mg prednisone for a month to date which took the pain away, but not a lot of the swelling. In addition I have had a dry cough for about 4 weeks now and I am not due back to the doctor until April. What should I do?
I am diabetic patient with age 39; since last 3 months, I am feeling too much pain in my finger joints i.e. especially main joints, which join the finger with palm. It is with all fingers .. some more and some less.
I have consult my doctor,,, he made some tests and prescribed some medicence, which I used but pain was still there ,,, so he said it is not due to diabetes, and then he referred me to an orthopedic, he made some more blood tests and x-ray of the hands ,,, and he found nothing, he given me some medicine…but no use…as the pain is still there..I visited him again ,, he said it is may be due to diabetes….i told him my sugar level is in normal range <110 in fasting, and also my diabetic doctor said it is not due to diabetes. pls advise what to do..i feel all time very severe pain in my joints…I can’t bow my fingers towards palm direction. plz advise.

I know ive had other questions, and thanks to everyone who helped. but yet again i have more! i am 16 years old, i do not need a lecture about how i am irrisponsible. i am very mature for my age. i can handle this. im scared, but strong. and ill get through it. i shouldnt have only trusted my b/c. i know. so dont say it.
im 16, who isnt scared of being prego at 16?
anyhoo, recap: lol
in october i got preg. with my ex ex bf’s baby. we broke up after homecoming and i didnt talk to him after, had a miscarriage in jan. ish feb. at about 16 weeks.
then again in june, another bf, got prego again miscarried again after almost 10 weeks. (so end of july).
Now, I started talking to this guy I met through friends in january/February. We became really close talking everyday and stuff, hanging out here and there, I trusted him a lot.
When I had the first m/c I completely stopped talking to him, and many other people. Because I felt like I was going through it alone and couldn’t talk to anyone anyways, so I dindt. (bad thing to do I know)
He started dating someone and so did I (the next pregnancy and m/c) then we started talking again.
THIS IS WHERE I NEED HELP:
After the 2nd miscarriage, the clinic I go to for all my testing put me on b/c (ortho cyclen) and the first pack I started mid july. I wasn’t taking the pills at exactly the same time every day cuz I knew I wasn’t going to be having sex for a while.i got my period when I took the placebo pills (started aug 13th, ended aug 19th) I started the 2nd pack on the 20th of august, and started taking them at exactly the same time everyday.
Me and the kid from january got close again. We kinda started dating, he came over a couple times a week and we would cuddle and kiss and stuff. He had me beliving it was more than just a hookup, I was in a bad family and relationship situation so I fell for it :/ but we ended up having unprotected sex on the 23rd of august, well technically the 24th since it was at 1 in the morning, and I let him cum in me cuz of the b/c. (dumb idea)
Well we didn’t talk much afterwards, cuz boys are dumb and they sweet talk until they get what they want then walk away, and about a week after we had sex my boobs started getting really sore, (no where near my period) but I thought maybe the b/c (although they already had gone through the whole, boobs hurting from first starting b/c and then they got batter with the first pack), peeing more, feeling dizzy and faint, naseaus (spelled wrong) on and off and when I smelled food, and really bloated. I dimissed it as b/c side effects, but still felt pregnant(I knew from the ones before). Then a couple days after found out that if your on meds it can alter the effectiveness of your b/c. I was on singulair and meloxicam at the same time as my b/c and when we had sex. (also Tylenol but idt that doesn’t anything)
I texted him since he ignored my phone call, and said I shouldn’t have let him cum in me and he said why you prego or something? I said I feel pregnant, he knows about the other m/c, and told me to get an abortion. I am completely against abortion, so he said oh well have a nice life im not spending a dime on that kid, I don’t want a kid right now. We argued about child support if I was, and then he blocked me on facebook and my phone number. I am supposed to go on Monday to the clinic for a test, but its labor day so if they are open for walkins Tuesday ill go, if not then either next week or buy one. Im supposed to get surgery on my knee in a few weeks so I need to know if I am or not soon.
QUESTIONS: (sorry for going on and on)
–what are the chances of my b/c failing?
–the girl at the clinic that I called to figure out if they were open said I wouldn’t have symptoms yet. You start counting the weeks from ur last period. That means I would be almost 4 weeks correct? The two other pregnancies I noticed symptoms(that I thought was my period starting) and had implantation bleeding a few days to a week after we had sex. Shes dumb and said impossible but what happened to everyone is different?? Am I wrong or is she?
–According to babycenter.com and babygaga.com and a few other online calculators, I would’ve been most fertile between aug. 24th until aug 29th, do you think I am pregnant? Cuz I know sperm can live in you for a couple days. (he came when he was all the way in me btw I dont know if that means anything?)
–Do you think he’ll come around if I am and he finds out more about it? I thought maybe he was scared since hes captain of the football team, and lax, and for scholarships and stuff. Plus his rents push him really hard. I don’t know if maybe its that hes scared to disappoint his parents? Who think he has to get a scholarship for football to the best schools?!? Idk. Any ideas?(im 16 hes exactly a year and a day older, which is weird I never date guys that close to my age haha)
–if he doesn’t want to stick around, how can I make him pay child support? (he told me to liv
It is awfully sore to touch and when I move my head if becomes uncomftable too, and I feel run down somedays like I have a virus. I got my temprature checked out at the doctors the other day and my tempreture was normal, My gland on my left hand side is up and has been up for quite a while, and it has been very tender the last week and I am on antibiotics but they are not wroking at all. Is this normal? And my period are now 11 days late, and I am not pregnant as I am not seeing any man. Do you think I need a biopsy. This year have not been good for me as I just got over bowel cancer, and now this. I hope this is nothing serious, but all I can say is the antiboitics of Keflex is not working. Any ideas to what this might be. Thanks.
I’ve been taking Birth Control for only 2 months now. I know it’s not long enough to know whether if it’s the right one for me or not, but I need some comfort.
Before I started taking Birth Control my periods were irregular. They’d happen anywhere between 2-6 weeks depending on the month. Sometimes, I’d get a few days of “spotting” in between. I get blood tests done every month due to the many Rhuematoid Arthritis medications I take. I was told 3-4 months ago that my Iron count was low, but not necessarily low enough to worry about. I wasn’t anemic or anything, or so they said. (Important note: I was NOT on my period when I was told my iron count was low. My period did not happen either for 2 more weeks.)
The first month I started taking birth control, (name brand: Sprintec), I think everything happened normally as it should. My stomache was a little upset at first, but after a week of taking the pills my body adjusted and I had no further side effects. On the week of the sugar pills, my period started on Wednesday and was over by sunday. This month it is wednesday already and I’m showing no signs of a period. I find this concerning because aren’t birth control pills supposed to make my period consistant? I know it hasn’t been long enough to tell whether if it will come at all this week or not, but what if it doesn’t come at all? I know I’m not pregnant because I haven’t done sexual intercourse. Could my semi-low iron levels possibly be a factor into a late period on birth control? Or, could I possibly have a hormonal imbalance? What actions should I take other than seeing a doctor and a birth control test? Would daily vitamins help?
Yes, I know birth control is supposed to make your period happen less often… But is my period really not supposed to start until I am only 3-4 days left on the sugar pills?
Thanks in advance. ![]()
oh low hemoglobin not iron ahhhh fooo w/e lol

My friend has Arthritis + Lupus, LES. She takes Prednisolone, which causes side effects as moonface she already has.
Now she developed heavy acne in her neck. To makes things worse, her legs, arms, shoulders and stomach are loosing their skin elasticity, since her collagen is altered. Common movements produce pain, and on top, her skin looks so thin and unflexible, that you think it will tear at any second.
You can see superficial damage on her tommy as if she had given birth to 3 babies at once. Not exaggerating. Her legs and shoulders got scares and bruises. Her depression grows and we are so scared.
Doctors are treating the Lupus, but dont see any importance on the described side effects, since thats the drugs effect. But I believe ANY woman needs to feel good about herself, and each time people stare wierdly at her, i feel like I’ m being whipped.
If this conditions had some medication or treatment, she’d be able to go back to normal life, work and friends. SOS!
