I just got put on Prednisone (a steriod) im 13 years young and im taking it for my asthma. The Doc put me on 60 miligrams and i cant sleep and i cant eat, i feel like puking and im also extremly hyper. i’ve been on it before and never had these side affects? Can anyone tell me why im getting this and how i can sleep?

I took my 7 month old to the dr. and she said he had baby acne and a viral infection. Well being a worried mother I switched dr.’s because I thought there was more to it. Come to find out his “baby acne” is staff infection and his viral infection in pneumonia. He is on albuteral for wheezing pulmicort for breathing and an antibiotic for the pneumonia and cream for the staff infection. The dr. never asked to see him back in a week or whatever. Hes been on all the meds for about 3 days none of it seems to be helping. The breathing treatments are supposed to give instant relief. and he seems to be the same. The rash is spreading. I am going to make another appointment monday when the office opens. Should I wait it out till then or is the an emergency and he needs to go to the er.

I currently get 2 Ventolin HFA inhalers for free (cost 10 dollars + 15 dollar manufacturer coupon), but I’m just curious.

Is there anything I can do on my own?…I have done the doctor thing(that’s how I know I am) there is nothing they can do other than give me allergy shots. For example, I went out last night and put perfume on ( not cheap stuff) and now I have a rash all over my neck. Does any one else have the same problem?

I have samples that were given to me and a $200 med I bought that turned out I don’t need, I would hate to throw them away knowing that someone could use them. Also, pulmicort respules for children with asthma.
Yes, I wpuld not simply hand them over to anyone just because they told me they need them, I realize that is illegal.

I would take them to the doctor, but also have known some doctors to NOT want to give out their samples. I had my son’s doctor tell me this about one of his colleagues.

I was looking it up and i got kind of scared… should i ask my doctor about the side effects before continuing this medicine?

for a year i think ive had pluerisy so i been having chest pains the entire time.two in a half months ago i came down with a cold and suddenly couldn’t breathe right.went to the hospital one day cause i felt i couldn’t breathe like something was blocking air.they said nothing was wrong.few days later seen a doctor. she took x-ray and said infection the film showed streaks in my lungs.she diagnosed me with bronchitis.my only symptoms were chest pain,trouble breathing like blockage,and pressure tightness.took medicine amoxicilon.again had to go to e.r a few weeks later cause i felt like i couldn’t breathe at all.they said lungs seem fine and gave me advair.once again diagnosed with bronchitis.i guess they judge that by lung noise cause i have no cough.went back to doc made me breathe all my air in some machine said seemed fine referred me to lung doctor.well 24/7 i cant take deep breathe and have pain and pressure.feels like not getting enough air..i don’t think its bronchitis.

I always get hit hard when things start blooming – red and itchy eyes, fatigue, coughing, etc…The only over-the-counter that helps is Benadryl (but that puts me out of commission). I can’t really afford expensive allergy shots and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

Help, I’m have been having chronic bronchial spasms for two two days and nights. I cant stop coughing. The coughing gags me and makes me want to throw up and feel like i’m choking. I’m going to urgent care tomorrow. but, i need to get some sleep. I have old medication for bronchial astma from the past. but i forgot which of these work immediately for bronchial spasms.

which one should i take for immediate relief and to get some zzzzz’s.
I have been literally sitting up, to try and get some sleep. but that’s not working. I had alreay seen a doctor. they gave me amocicillin and Cardec dm, which i think induced the weezing. i have an old bottle of prometh, will this help relieve the coughing i cant go more than 10 minutes with out coughing.

I was diagnosed with pneumonia earlier this week and was given an inhaler to help me breathe. I’ve never used an inhaler before and have noticed that I get the jittery trembles about 10 minutes after using it. The jitters feel like a serious overdose of caffeine & last for about an hour.
Is this normal?

My friend had this one inhaler when she had some repiratory problems after childbirth. She hasnt needed for a few years, but is having some respiratory problems recently. Can she get a new one from her doctor or over the counter? I dont think she’ll need it enough to get a refiller. Advice?

I had to do a 12 day pack of prednisone and it has been awful getting off of it. Gain 8 lbs in 10 days, feeling spacy or outside myself, very very ill, head feels full, lots of fluid build up, unbalanced, hungry, eat and feel like throwing up, how long will this go on have been off for almost 36 hrs. Just want to feel normal again!

What would happen if I ate some peanut butter now? I ate some as a kid and got sick all over the daycare floor. I used to get allergy shots but am wondering years later what would happen now. Just out of curiosity and a desire to know instead of trying it for myself.

I’m having a decrease in appetite to the point where thinknig of eating breakfast in the morning before work makes me want to vomit sometimes. I hardly eat 1 good meal a day. I’m also having a upset stomach and having diarehia when I do actually or and sometimes even when I dont eat. The only thing I can relate it to is starting to take singulair 2 weeks ago. Should I stop taking it or will these side effects eventually stop?
