I converted an hourly employee to salary. How do I manage and what would be a reasonable sick pay benefit program look like for a small business. I was thinking 3 days per year , non accumulative. As you can tell, I am not sure how this works and need something in place.

I went to go to sleep and I had this ill feeling like something bad is about to happen. I just didn’t feel right last night. Could it be my heart giving me more trouble than I know of?
My chest is starting to hurt again and I don’t know what is causing this.
I’m having more palpitations and my chest is hurting a little more and I don’t know if I want to go to sleep tonight. I’m supposed to work opening to close tomorrow and I don’t know if I should do that.

I am 5 weeks pregnant and feeling really good. I am eating everything in sight. I am scared about morning sickness though.

I am looking for a science project idea. I wanted to do something that included or was about a mental illness. Maybe paranoia or hypochondria (health phobia.)
This could be interpreted wrong. I don’t mean to perform and an experiment on a mentally ill person.

I started a job in 10/05. I have taken 3 sick days since, 1 in November and 2 in December when I got sick on vacation. I am viciously ill today, and followed my employee handbook by calling my boss over an hour before my shift started. He called and left me a message telling me that it is unacceptable I called in sick today because he has things to do, and that I have taken an excessive amount of sick days this year and should come to work this afternoon.

If I say no, I am too sick to come in (which I am), can I be fired? I’m not sure what he means by “excessive”, but seeing as I haven’t even TAKEN a sick day this year…

Thanks guys, I appreciate any help you can give me on this one.

(And I don’t get paid time off either, this is all coming out of my own pocket.)

Thank you guys so so much for all of the help. He called me back and I told him no, I cannot come in, I am sick, if I was well enough to come in I would have been there at 11am.

Also, I called a co-worker this morning, hoping my boss was at work and not answering the phone, so apparently my boss was upset that I called the coworker. But I told him I had tried calling him four times this morning and could not reach him – what else was I supposed to do?

Basically, I think everything is better now, so I am going to sleep. Thank you guys so so so much! And I will tell him he’s a jerk, Michael, if you pay my rent. ^_^ (God knows I really, really, really want to call him a jerk!)

If someone is terminally ill, how do you deliver that news to them?

Example;
A guy has a very aggressive form of cancer, which already spread to many of his major organs, he has about 90 days left to live. Which he only decided in the last week to get a check-up.

Well my mother has caught the sickness and diarrhea bug and i wanted to know how i could prevent myself from catching it.I am already ill with a flu virus,is it likely i would catch the sickness bug even though im already ill.(sorry there is a few questions in with this)
