How can i get someone transferred hospitals when they are deathly ill?
My father is deathly ill and i think the hospital he is in mistreated him and caused a blood clot in his head. The whole town knows the hospital hes currently in is just a human butcher shop and my mother for some reason doesn’t want him transferred to a better hospital. Is there anything i can do legally or otherwise to get him transferred to a better hospital?
You need proof of what you say not just a bunch of people telling stories.
Talking to his doctor about changing hospitals could be the only option as he would need to be transported by ambulance. But if your mother does’t want to than it will be tough since she is his legal caregiver. I can suggest that you try to have a visitor with him at all times to make sure no abuse is happening.
Although a blood clot in the head would have to have came from a pretty serious trauma unless he has blood clotting issues from being emobile for some time.
Talk to the doctor to see if he notices any new injuries.
You need to call your State’s Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). Every State has what is called a Health Care Ombudsman who can intervene when a family member feels their relative is being mistreated at a hospital. If your loved one has a condition where they’re approaching end-of-life, you need to ask them for an expedited decision and they have to respond to your request within a MAXIMUM of 48-72 hours (excluding weekends/holidays.)
