“The Penultimate Truth about Philip K. Dick” In 2007 I produced this documentary about the mystical experiences of sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick. Philip K. Dick is considered by many to be one the world’s greatest science fiction writers ever; as a sufferer from mental illness himself he had the ability to turn his hallucinations about the universe into an extraordinary writing career. During his lifetime, Dick produced an astonishing amount of prize winning novels and short stories, which were translated into more than 25 languages. Three of his literary works were transformed into blockbuster movies: Blade Runner, Minority Report and Total Recall. Several years before his death, Philip started having mystical experiences that affected his everyday life. As a result, he started to wonder if what he had imagined for his stories was real and if life was just an illusion or the creation of each person’s subjectivity. This in-depth program explores Philip K. Dick`s world, a universe full of mysteries and intrigues.

Just brilliant. This documentary was both educational (I knew comparatively little about PKD before watching it) and oddly inspiring. My thanks to the creators and uploader for sharing so excellent a piece on this fascinating man!

@fastfoodclowns You have no clue whatsoever about what your talking about. Over 3/4 of the worlds most influential people on this planet didnt go to college. College is for people who copy how others think they are not taught to think, I have been to University and college , I have not dropped out of a course I have done … yet maybe in the future I will – who cares , does that mean what I say is not valid? does that mean the Buddha has no valid points? Jesus if you believe in such tales?
I appreciated some of his novels while I was a college student, but I don’t think he had any special knowledge. He dropped out of college and he never read parts of the Bible that he said were so important— very strange.
