What mental illness do you think Walter Bishop from Fringe has? Lol.
They say he is insane, does that mean he has a psychotic disorder?
I know he is very eccentric but there has to be a specific diagnosis for him to be locked away in an institution for so many years.

My theory was some form of schizophrenia or schizotypal, maybe hebephrenia because he’s so childish and silly. Sometimes inappropriate.

It seems people expect to be happy all of the time now a days. Sadness is as natural as happiness. Most people I see treat the little bouts of sadness they have as a mental disease and want to take anti-depressants or label themselves as having bi-polar disorder. Why are we so quick to label ourselves and others as having a mental illness when confronted with sadness? What is the underlying cause of this prevailing behavior?

I myself suffer from major depression so I count in my theory.

It seems all of the most active people I meet in Yahoo Answers have major mental illness?

What is the connection between “crazy” and Yahoo?

Is it the effect of those damned orange bars?

It has to be able to happen in the US and California. It has to be fatal and fast acting like maybe a month to die and person healthy and then all of a sudden have the disease or illness.

Thanks!

I have my first concert in less than two weeks and I am recovering from a sinus infection which has left my throat and my lungs in terrible condition. I am going back to the doctor tomorrow to make sure nothing else has come of my illness, but in the meantime, I need to do everything possible to make sure my voice will be in tip-top shape in no time. If you have any ideas, please help. Thanks!

Given a national Constitution and the UN Human Rights, what restrictions or special provisions exist allowing for citizens deemed suffering of mental illness? This probably is not a new issue as the Eastern Block of old confined prisoners of conscience, and the China of today puts petitioners, into state run psychiatric facilities. What does the Philosophy of Law say in such instances?

I have no mental illness but I asked this because I am curious about mentally ill people. What will happen to them if they take up psychology in college? Will it improve their mental health?

Could you suggest some books about dealing with mental illness (anorexia, anxiety, depression or others) They can be fiction or not, thanks!

For Anthro i have to make a video with my partners & we have to make a PSA about a mental illness. Which ones do you think could be portrayed or acted out? Or which one do you think should be announced?

In your experience, or if you are a psychologist, what factors contribute to a high likelihood of someone experiencing a mental illness?

And what factors will mitigate this?

Thanks.

Can psychiatrists have a history of mental illness, even if they are now considered cured?

What about if they had the illness when they were a minor?

What if they are still taking medication for the illness? Would they be out of a job?

I’m still trying to get over it at least, but it’s kicking my butt. Thing is, I fell way behind after going down with this unseemingly endless illness. I need ease into something because I feel like a sitting duck. It being allergy season is not helping either; what should I do?

My horse, as well as another horse at our barn, recently recovered from an upper-respiratory infection. During his illness, he had a fever, and stopped drinking water. In this heat, and with the humidity in the South, I worried about him not getting enough fluids. I don’t know if I did something right or something wrong, but I purchased some Gatorade, and he enjoyed it. Although, he didn’t drink a vast amount. But enough to where I felt good that he had SOME kind of fluid. Does anyone know if this is bad?
Regarding the tip on feeding watermelon. My friend is doing that with her mare. If I feed it to my horse, I worried about the seeds. Should I try to remove the watermelon seeds before feeding it to him? I didn’t know if they caused a blockage in the intestinal tract somehow.

My instructor does not answer emails on the weekends and my paper is due on the 1st. I need to know what a teacher means by origins of an illness.

I’m writing an essay on mental illness in the late 18th century and I need four points to it. I have three: how they were treated, medical treatments, and how society used them. I need one more before tomorrow! Help!

I want to play a joke on the Pharmacists who I work with. I work at a grocery store right outside the pharmacy area and know them all. I just want to have a bit of fun go back there really close to the Pharmacists and say ” My doctor prescribed me ####### could you tell me how much it is? ” :D What would be a good illness to freak them out that I’m so close?

When an adult child has a mental illness (and of course is in denial), how can the family help this person as well. Is it appropriate to try to speak to their social worker? What can they tell us?

I am doing a research on how movies and television portrayals of mental illness have a negative influence on adolescents.

I’m looking for movies to use as an example. Anything that has to do with mental illness (broad topic) and how it might affect adolescent audiences in a negative way.

I just need titles and suggestions. Thanks!

People have told me that if you are a psychologist or psychiatrist you have higher chances of developing a mental illness. Is this true?

I looked at the Character and Fitness application for the Bar.

It asks if you have a mental illness. I think the would was “psychotic” or some similar word.

I was diagnosed 2 years ago with ADHD and Anxiety and put on medication. (I had problems due to a stalker.) I am now completely free of anxiety and I no longer see a psychiatrist.

Will my ADHD/anxiety diagnoses hurt me? Or are they more concerned with illnesses like schizophrenia and anti-social personality disorder?
