There is a relative in the family who requires the care of an assisted living home. Institutionalization is not an option, as in, no extended stays at hospitals. We’re looking to put this person into a more residental care facility. The person in question is mentally ill.

What we would like to know is where should we begin to look for such a facility? Is there a type of government office which we should look to?

I don’t make enough money to pay for bare necessities, such as food,rent, car payment, etc. on a regular basis. How am I supposed to pay for dental and health? I am also a single parent, but my son is taken care of. I am told I work to many hours for state aid and because my sons is payed already that I don’t qualify for any help.

Basically she’s had horrible symptoms for the last year and a half, has been to over a dozen doctors, had all sorts of scans and tests done, and they don’t know whats wrong. Why does a teacher get the same insurance as someone who works all year and takes the normal two weeks of vacation? That’s insane. How about this compromise: you teachers will still get insurance, but not during the time you aren’t being productive. That means during the summer, unless you teach summer school, your insurance is cancelled!
