Seriously ill and in hospital in a critical condition… What do you do?
My wife recently had a back spinal fusion surgery. Ever since the surgery she has had a viral infection, according to her personal doctor. She has fever, vomiting, dizziness, and this has been going on for 2 months and no end in sight. Her doctor says it just needs to be waited out. I think that is BS. There must be a doctor who specializes in infectious diseases. Can anyone give me some leads? We are in the Seattle area with some great hospitals, I know. My wife is allergic to penicillin and its various forms, BTW.
When an adult child has a mental illness (and of course is in denial), how can the family help this person as well. Is it appropriate to try to speak to their social worker? What can they tell us?
I am not bipolar. I do not need warnings about talking to my doctor, or anything like that. I am writing a short story and just want to know how quickly someone who stopped taking their medication would feel the effects of that.
Its not for me, a close friend of mine took 5motion sickness pills and a dxm pill
Whould that get him high?
My boyfriend has had asthma and allergies since he was a kid, and I hate seeing him sniffle and snort and have trouble breathing. He treats the asthma and tries to treat the allergies but they still bother him. Any suggestions for a good medicine he can try? He has seasonal allergies as well as specific allergies ( smoke, cigarettes, cats, etc.) He stays as far from each one as possible.
how would you convince someone with a mental illness to take his/her medication?
i have a support group who strongly urges my best friend to leave her boyfriend because he has schizophrenia and they know exactly what he’ll do if he doesn’t take his meds!
There is a beggar in my city who has been around for years, and he always goes about wearing a winter coat and hood, even on days like today (95 F and humid). I don’t know for certain that he has a mental illness, but is there any medical condition (mental or otherwise) that could cause this? (He appears physically healthy.)
It might be relevant that he is a fairly (but not abnormally, I don’t think, though it’s hard to tell) thin man, with glasses and a beard, perhaps in his late 40s.
The whole idea that Obama is trying to get healthcare for all is wonderful and he will not give up. I am so proud. How does anyone else feel about it? If someone believes different I would like to know why..I feel its a moral obligation to take care of our own. As people are dying everyday because they have no health insurance.I have been answering all these questions and decided to ask my own.I truely would like to hear a good reason why someone couldnt care less about another person.
I am real sensitive and have found that I suffer anxiety and sleepless nights being around my roommate. He doesnt say anything mean and we get along, but theres something about him that causes me to become ill. When he leaves the house, I feel healthy again. Will someone explain what is going on here..
I’m writing a research paper on voluntary euthanasia. and as one of my arguments i wanted to talk about how expensive it is to keep someone alive with a terminal illness. however.. i have no idea! i’m not even sure if it is.. but i imagine it would be.
My mom threw up last night and im wondering if im goona end up getting it. How long after a person gets sick do you get sick? Like for exaple if i dont get sick after today am i goona get it? Thanks in advance please answer!!!
My father is deathly ill and i think the hospital he is in mistreated him and caused a blood clot in his head. The whole town knows the hospital hes currently in is just a human butcher shop and my mother for some reason doesn’t want him transferred to a better hospital. Is there anything i can do legally or otherwise to get him transferred to a better hospital?
They must have graduated from high school with a diploma or settled for a GED. Not every ill person wants to ride the government & pinch out every penny they can from SSI or Welfare. There are alot of upstanding citizens with a mental disorder but they seem to get the rap because of those who play the system. I’m in the Army & was curious what others thought about possible jobs.
Can a non doctor be an owner of a medical practice with a doctor? Is there an ethical issue here? Are there any applicable Medical Board policies that regulate this?
I am wondering generally about in the US, and even more specifically about California.
But, if you know what it is like in other parts of the world as well, it would be great to know how things are done there too.
Thanks!
My father recently became seriously ill from our apartment complex negilgence. The complex sprayed chemicals and painted the downstairs apartment below my father’s apartment. They did not fumigate or open any windows after doing this. As a result, these fumes came through our ventilation late at night and sickened my father. He is a heart patient with chronic lung disease. This aggraveted his condition and has put him in the hospital. Do we have a case against this complex and what kind of attorney handles these matters?
I am curious if there are any homeopathic remedies to give a child to prevent them from becoming ill right after being around another sick child? Hand washing & influenza vaccine were put into practice, but I am wondering if there is anything that can be given to minimize the chance of getting ill from being around someone sick.
Thanks!
This is 100% hypothetical. I don’t have any plans to do this. But i’m just wondering what would happen if someone practiced medicine without a license.
Parents are always saying ” Where a coat or you”ll catch a cold.”, but why does this happen? I know some people don’t believe that it does, but than why does it seem that more people are sick during the winter?
Is it health insurance or is it not? If its health insurance, there is a contractual obligation to pay for the cost of health care. Why should someone have to pay them back money from a lawsuit to reimburse them?…that would make it not be insurance…if you have to pay back the benefits. If its not insurance, what is it?
but the coverage should have nothing to do with how I can sick. they should simply cover because you are sick.
If she was in some sort of accident where no one was liable or was just seriously ill from some degenerative disease, they would still have to pay.
It seems like a clause insurance carriers put in there to make money.
If the lady had insurance coverage, they owe her benefits because she paid premiums for those. Knowing all this, its like the lady and her family ..should not have even bothered suing the trucking company. why bother and do all of that so that walmart can swoop in and reap the benefits?
