Complimentary treatment for hypertension?

I have recently been diagnosed with hypertension. I look after myself, run regularly and have completed four marathons. I’m not keen on the medication I’ve been prescribed and was wondering if anyone could suggest any herbal remedies.

Glucose Results – beta blocker?

Hello,
I had a routine physical in September and my fasting glucose results were abnormal – 121. I then had a two hour glucose tolerance test in October, my fasting number was 117, one hour 240 and two hour 157. After researching online I noticed that Beta Blockers can affect glucose test results. (sometime higher or lower – I take a Beta Blocker for migraines) After consulting my neurologist I weaned myself off the beta blocker for two weeks and took the two hour test again. My fasting number was 108, one hour 157 and two hour 173. Still abnormal. I’m not over weight, six foot three, 205 lbs and I don’t have any symptoms for diabetes. With my height and weight I’m not the usual diabetes type II candidate and I feel fine. Has any one else had a similar experience or results while being on a beta blocker or similar numbers for being a “normal” height and weight?
Oh, I forgot to add I has an A!C test and it was 5.4%.

What happens if the systolic number is lower than the diastolic number?

I don’t know…I’m just wondering whether if it’s just nothing bad, if it’s SOMETHING BAD, or, if the blood pressure turned into a fraction that no one seems to care about. But yeah, I’m just wondering! :)

Postpartum Cardiomyopothy?

If you have a post partum cardio myopothy, will it definetley go away on it’s own after 6 months? I was diagnosed with cardiomyopothy. The cardiologist says based on my history it’s likely due to pregnancy. My baby is now 6 months old and I was wondering if this will automatically go away on its own.I am on beta blockers and ace inhibitors. I become very frustrated around this topic b.c i just dont understand why this happened and the doctor cant seem to pin point the cause.. any info will be helpful.
Thanks in advance for your helpful responses.

would “calcium channel blocker” medicine show in drug tests results?

Can you tell from drug tests what medicine does a person take? My hubby was tested this morning, he gave them his urine sample. He’s taking Norvasc, we’re just curious if it’ll show on the result. Thanks

Isn’t 40mg of Lisinopril too much to prescribe for someone just diagnosed with Stage 1 Hypertension?

I was diagnosed only 2 weeks ago and given 12.5 mg/day of hydrochlorothiazide (diuretic) which didn’t work; my bp fluctuates between 100/70 to 149/107. I do not have any other health conditions except age 63, some overweight and a little high cholesterol.
