I’m a successful part time entrepreneur in California, but I maintain my day job because of the group health insurance they offer. I’d like to cut the apron string and go out completely on my own, but the insurance situation holds these plans hostage.

I don’t want to buy private health insurance, I would like to structure my one man business so that I can easily purchase group health insurance for myself and family. I’d like to purchase group insurance as opposed to private insurance so that I don’t have to deal with preexisting conditions and riders, etc. Since I’m still a sole proprietor, I have plenty of leeway in regards to business structure, and I’m willing to change whatever is necessary to get the best deal possible.

How can I get health insurance for myself and family and pay for it as business expense without employees?

I am doing a biology research project on something that could have caused my life-long asthma.
Before my birth in 1992, my mother had to take some sort of medicine to mature my lungs very quickly. I would not have lived if I had come 3 months early without the medicines she was taking.
Now she can’t remember the medicine she took, but I’m looking for some possible medicines to base my research from. Any help?

I know there is a sickness that you can do this to, but I went blank just a minute ago. What’s a sickness that you can build a resistance against by taking away medicine slowly?

I am a 16 year old girl and I really want to work with terminally ill children in hospitals. I feel like my gift is with children and I really want to help and just like hang out with them, play with them. Where can I do this and who do I contact. I know hospitals will have terminally ill childrens wards but I don’t know where to start looking. I live in NY (Rockland County)
Suggestions please =]

Thanks!

Are certain illnesses by nature chronic or acute, or by progression, and partake of both labels?

What precisely does it mean diagnostically speaking (in practical terms) to have a chronic or acute illness?

And (BQ) is it possible for one to have chronic health and acute wellness?

=D

Peace.

Does anyone know if tavegyl is a good medicine, and what exactly is it for.

Visit SiteBanishTonsilStonesI know how it feels to think at first that you can just cope with your tonsil stones and get through life without treating them. I understand what it’s like to have a boyfriend and not want to kiss him because your are embarrassed of your foul breath.

I remember what it felt like to be so ashamed of having this condition, trying to hide it from friends, family, even my partner. You’re not alone. I went through exactly the same roller coaster ride of emotions that anyone with tonsil stones goes through.

(I don’t mean good health or bad health, I simply mean “health”).

When the people who oppose the health insurance mandate are asked why they don’t oppose a car insurance mandate, they usually reply that:

you’re only required to buy car insurance if you own a car, and you don’t need car insurance if you don’t own a car.

Following the same logic it would mean that:

you should only be required to buy health insurance if you have health, and you don’t need health insurance if you don’t have health.

So, how exactly do the opponents of the health insurance mandate choose not to have health?
And, of course, the people who choose not to buy health insurance, and who get hit with a debilitating illness are NEVER going to go to a hospital? When they can’t pay – the hospital will simply pass the cost along to all the other people who do carry insurance. Some personal responsibility.
@AC: because when someone ends up having to go into the hospital, they usually can’t pay for it out of pocket. And when they don’t pay for it out of pocket, the hospital makes me and everyone else pay for it through higher prices.

And to all: remember, I said when I said health – I specifically said “not good health or bad health, I simply mean health”.

We are losing my wife’s health insurance and are going to be taking out a private health insurance policy. I am self-employed and think I can deduct the premiums from my taxable income.

Does anyone know if that is the case? I would appreciate anyone who could point me in the right direction.

I know that certain trade organizations offer discount health insurance under group rates if you join. However, I am unaware of any groups for a person who is self employed as an expeditor–a person who works in the urban planning field filing cases. He pays a exhoribant monthy premium for his health insurance.

For instance, epilepsy is not considered a “mental health” problem even though it’s something that’s happening in the brain. Schizophrenia has to do with brain chemicals, but it’s a mental health issue.
