I don’t get insurance through work but I saw something online for health and dental plans. They seem a lot cheaper than getting insurance on my own.

Has anyone tried this? Is there a catch I’m not seeing?

The holy month of ramadan is coming up in a week or so. I’ve decided to give up my boxing training and go easy since it is about 18 hours long. I want to know, if there are proven/advised health problems or benefits in fasting.

The real reason i missed class: my gf of two years broke up with me and i was extremely depressed. literally couldn’t get out of bed for a week (but of course i can’t say that to my tutor, can i?)

Labor began at 9:30 pm on Friday, Sept 10 and lasted through the night and into the morning. I was unable to sleep, but managing fairly well. We called our doula over around noon and soon it was time to drive to the alternative birthing center at a nearby hospital. When the midwife checked me out I was 5cm dilated. Yeah for the rookie mom! We were worried I’d be at a 1 or 2. I continued to labor in the birthing center – mainly in the shower and down on all fours with the birthing ball – till 4 pm When my midwife rechecked me I was at a 7! Life was good. I had hope! I labored for 2 more hours… very intense, very painful and thank God for Mike who literally held my back together with every contraction to help offset the pressure. I was rechecked at 6 pm and was making progress. We labored for another half hour and then filled the birthing tub…

I wanna take a sick day off work… what is the best illness to say I have?

At my job we have paid sick leave. The employer requires that a sick form be filled out upon a return to work. The employer rejects the sick leave form if you do not state what type of sickness or injury.

What impact does the personal health habits of the President have on job performance, national health care issue?

It bothers me that so many obese people say they are obese due to illness. I don’t know where but I recall seeing a statisic that said less than 1% of obese people are suffering an illness that makes them gain weight.
It’s my opinion that too many people are giving themselves “permission” to be unhealthy by saying they have an illness when they truly don’t.

Waynebudd- I think laziness is extremely fair, because it’s true. It’s laziness that drives people McDs instead of cooking in their own house. It’s laziness that gets people into their cars instead of walking someplace.
Mystery- Very good points. I do believe in food addictions, but like any addiction I don’t believe in allowing people to use it as an excuse.
Chula- Good for you, for owning up to your own mistakes and making the effort to fix them. I have a lot of respect for people who don’t hide behind excuses.

Victory- If I ever have that situation occur in my life I’m sure it’ll be difficult. But I also won’t just lay down and say, Oh I’m fat because of this pill…I’ll do everything I can to keep myself healthy.

BTW I used to be overweight. I wasn’t obese, but I had a BMI of 26, and a body fat percentage of 30%…extremely unhealthy. I didn’t make excuses though. I admitted that it was my fault I’d let myself get that way. And, I fixed it. It wasn’t easy, or fast but I worked for it.

Cristy- Why is it my business? Because as a taxpayer I end up PAYING for the lazy people who get those “free” electric wheelchairs because they don’t want to walk. The “Free”ness of the wheel chair means the taxpayers shelled out for it. Many obese people “can’t” work, so who pays for them? TAXPAYERS…I don’t want to pay for lazy, lazy people.

If your a full time employee, you have 50 something hours in sick time. How come i am sick now, contagious and have dierhrea but my boss says he cant approve my sick time. Why?

Also it doesnt matter what type of apple every apple makes me feel sick. It is a recent thing. Only over the past 3 years this has happened before i used to love apples i ate one or two everyday. But for some reason i stopped doing that for around a month and the next time i had a apple it made me feel sick and it still makes me sick to eat apples. What is wrong with me?
