My good friend was recently involved in a hit and run while driving her mom’s car and never went to the emergency room, but is now in pain and really needs to see a doctor. I live in the US and it seems that every Egyptian I meet is obsessed with doctors (or engineers). Why does everyone in Egypt have to be either a doctor or engineer? How much money does a successful doctor (or engineer) make in a year?

I’m Egyptian myself and I don’t understand why doctors especially are put on such a high pedestal by Egyptians.
